Project overview
Adlington’s ecommerce website needed to reflect the quality of its poultry while supporting the demands of a highly seasonal business. Since 2020, Cookehouse has worked with the team on website design, development and ongoing improvements, serving both retail customers and trade enquiries.
The partnership combines product presentation with practical ordering functionality, helping the website accommodate everyday sales and the busy Christmas period.

The requirements
Create an online shopping experience that makes Adlington’s products straightforward to explore and order, while accommodating different weights, seasonal availability, delivery dates and collection options.
The website also needed a separate route for trade customers to request quotations, alongside useful order information for the team handling fulfilment.

The implementation
We designed and developed the WordPress and WooCommerce website around Adlington’s existing identity, bringing together product information, online payments and seasonal shopping. An approval-based trade registration process enabled business customers to submit quotation requests for multiple products.
We developed a tailored delivery and collection functionality to accommodate product availability, ordering rules and different fulfilment dates. Scheduled order exports carried delivery information through to the team.
Further improvements included clearer product-range navigation and custom menus that update automatically as published products change. We also supported the related English Label website, connected marketing tools and refined the mobile presentation.
The relationship continues through seasonal shop preparation, product updates, maintenance and troubleshooting, keeping the website aligned with Adlington’s changing operational needs.
